Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr M Afsarul Amin Tuesday said the new generation would have to be educated with science-based modern knowledge to build a digital Bangladesh by 2021.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at a function to distribute multimedia and laptops among model government primary school of Dhaka division at the Department of Primary Education in the city, said an official release.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education M Motahar Hossain, Department of Primary Education Director General Shyamol Kanti Ghosh and Director (Admin) M Abdur Rouf Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.
The minister referred to the importance of mothers in building an educated nation and the urged headmasters to create awareness among the mothers about education.
He said the primary teachers and education officials would have to take training so that they can give computer education at the grassroots level. Later, the minister and the state minister distributed laptops and multimedia among the headmasters of 135 schools.
