Partners of the ruling Awami League-led 14-party alliance have expressed dissatisfaction over the seat-sharing ahead of the 12th parliamentary election scheduled for January 7.

In this background, on behalf of the Awami League, alliance coordinator Amir Hussain Amu has initiated informal discussions regarding distribution of seats after the completion of the process of submission of nomination papers.

On Saturday, some top leaders of the alliance partners visited the residence of the alliance coordinator in Iskaton and held discussions with him.

Ameer Hussain Amu also spoke to some leaders on phone and assured them that a meeting would be held soon with the alliance chief and Awami League chairperson Sheikh Hasina.

Coalition sources revealed that Emir Hussein Amu requested the list of candidates from the 14-party coalition partners who had submitted nomination papers for various constituencies. He also took information about the priority seats of the alliance partners and how many parties have already submitted their lists.
