The decision was taken at a high-profile meeting to review the fee and charges related to the telecommunication at the Prime Minister’s Office with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
“The meeting also decided to give license of Voice of Internet Protocol (VoIP),” PM’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told journalists after the meeting.
At the meeting, he said, a decision was also taken to formulate a guideline for the mobile phone operators.
It also fixed the social obligation fee of the telecom companies at one percent and discussed the renewal fee of the mobile phone operators.
