A total of 48 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) platoons have been deployed in Dhaka and surrounding areas to ensure security at garment factories.
BGB headquarters public relations officer Sharuiful Islam said, BGB troops have been deployed in Ashulia, Sawar, Mirpur, Ghazipur and other parts of the country.
Garment factory workers in Dhaka and surrounding areas returned to work on Sunday after 12 days of unrest for a minimum wage of Taka 23,000.
The government on Tuesday announced the minimum wage for entry-level readymade garment (RMG) factory workers at Tk 12,500, 56.25 per cent higher than the current wage.
