Eight workers died in a fire at a printing and dyeing factory in the capital’s Shyampur area early Thursday.
The fire broke out at a semi-pucca room on the rooftop of the four-storey building of Sonargaon Fancy Dyeing and Printing Factory at about 4:45am.
Fire origination is still under investigation, many chemical drums were found at the scene.
Samples were sent for chemical identification,
Fire fighters came to the spot and doused the flame after one hour efforts.
The dead bodies were sent to Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy. Their identity could not be known immediately.
