According to PLD Spec, 70 percent of the components developed for MIURA1 will be used for MIURA5.
Under an agreement signed with the French National Center for Space Studies, the mini-launcher will take off from the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana.
Founded by two Spanish academics in 2011, PLD Space is one of several European start-ups that have begun work on the development of a mini-satellite launcher in response to the rapidly growing market for launching micro-satellites into orbit.
Compared to larger launchers like SpaceX’s Falcon 9 or ArianeGroup’s Ariane 6, smaller rockets offer multiple uses, including the ability to carry a satellite, and they can be launched more quickly.
