She was living in her maternal grandmother’s house in Sayastabad Union of Barisal Sadar
Upazila after her parents abandoned her few months ago.
At the day of incident she was going to a nearby pond to have a bath, her neighbor Mariom
called her and took her to a room. Jasim and Anik were waiting there. They raped her and
another culprit Jafar shoot video. Mariom threatened the girl that she will be killed if she
says it to anyone.
That video was marketed by them also.
Some local people took the girl to the local Mahila Parisad (women’s committee), its
secretary Pratima Sharkar vowed to give all sorts of legal assistance. She said a case will
be filled on Friday.
Local Thana officer in charge is still waiting for a formal complain. But he said a team is
in field in this regard.
