The ruling Awami League on Friday nominated Siddiqur Rahman Patwari to contest the Natore-4 constituency by-election to be held on October 11, UNB reported.
The party finalized the nomination at its Parliamentary Nomination Board meeting held at Ganobhavan, chaired by party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Nomination board member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim told reporters after the meeting.
On August 30, Natore-4 constituency was declared vacant following the death of its MLA and Natore district Awami League president Professor Abdul Quddus.
Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Abdur Razzaq, Muhammad Farooq Khan, Abdus Shobhan Golap were also present in the meeting.
