There was no discussion on the upcoming upazila elections during the Central Executive Committee meeting of Awami League to avoid any controversy in front of the top leadership of the party. However, this does not mean that the party has forgiven those leaders whose relatives are contesting the upazila elections by ignoring the party's decision.
Rather, the ruling party wants to review each case separately and reach a decision. Many Awami League leaders at the policy making level confirmed this to Prothom Alo.
Meanwhile, the parliamentary committee of the Awami League will hold a meeting in Parliament this evening with the participation of ministers and MPs. Awami League leaders said that Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina can give a strong message to ministers and MPs from the meeting.
