Sheikh Hasina congratulated Bangladeshi peacekeepers as they work tirelessly to protect civilians, human rights and establish peace globally.
He said that Bangladeshi peacekeepers have successfully taught Bengali culture and language to many people in the countries they have worked for.
“That is why the people of those countries (where the peacekeepers are working) have given you immense love and affection,” he said.
He further added, “Overall, our professionalism, efficiency and commitment to establishing global peace have set an example for others.”
The Prime Minister called upon Bangladeshi peacekeepers to continue their efforts and further enhance the country's image.
He recalled the contribution of 168 Bangladeshi peacekeepers who sacrificed their lives in establishing global peace, while 266 others were seriously injured.
