Beef price fixed at Taka 650/kg till parliamentary elections – traders’ decision

Confirming the decision, Bangladesh Meat Traders Association president Golam Murtaza told Prothom Alo, “Beef will be sold at Tk 650 per kilogram in the capital markets from Thursday. This decision will be gradually implemented across the country.

He further said that there is no scope for selling meat at different prices due to the interests of traders and consumers.

A source present at the meeting told Prothom Alo that traders have decided that every 1 kg of beef will contain 750 grams of meat, 200 grams of bone and 50 grams of fat. No trader can sell beef of low quality. After selling beef at this rate for one month on an experimental basis, the price will be adjusted.
