Biman’s London-Sylhet flight resumes

State owned airline Biman Bangladesh Airlines has resumed its London-Sylhet flight after ten month. There was a strong local demand to start the flight again. Finance minister AMA Muhith inaugurated the flight. On its first flight a Boeing 777 aircraft landed on Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport. There were 420 passengers on board.

Civil Aviation and Tourism minister, managing director of Biman and some other VIPs were present on the occasion. Finance minister expressed his dissatisfaction on Biman’s management. He said government should have stopped financing the national flag carrier long before.

Civil Aviation minister said Biman will operate Sylhet- Jedda flight for Hajj pilgrims. The minister also assured that Sylhet-London flight will not be stopped again.

Biman was in trouble when a leased aircraft left before the scheduled time few weeks ago. But Biman will get delivery of a new aircraft soon and another leased aircraft will also be added to its flight soon. Another aircraft is added to its fleet after maintenance few days ago.
