According to sources in the meeting, during the meeting they discussed various issues including political stability in the region, economic development of Bangladesh, curbing insurgency and bilateral relations between the two countries.

Nadda said that India has had cordial relations with Bangladesh since the country’s inception in 1971 during the freedom struggle. He said, the then young parliamentarian and later Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had brought a resolution in favor of Bangladesh in the Indian Parliament in 1971.

On Bangladesh-India relations, he said relations between the two countries reached new heights during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina.
