Along with party leaders and workers, BNP senior joint general secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi distributed leaflets to various sections of people, including commuters, pedestrians, shopkeepers, transport drivers and rickshaw-pullers, at Elephant Road and Bailey Road in the capital on Thursday.
No such operation was reported from other parts of the capital.
“People have already rejected the January 7 elections. No one except Awami League will go to the polling stations. We call on all people to boycott this enthusiasm. You don’t go to vote yourself and ask others not to go either,” Rizvi told reporters at the time.
Jamaat-e-Islami on Thursday night unveiled a leaflet titled ‘Boycott the elections, don’t vote’ and provided it to party leaders for distribution.
