A local level leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), who was in police custody due to his involvement in a case related to vandalism, died at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Monday afternoon, UNB reported.
The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Mohd Abul Bashar, who was holding the post of joint secretary in West Malibagh unit of BNP.
Bashar was admitted to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Monday (21 August) at 2:15 pm after he fell ill while in custody at Dhaka Central Jail (Keraniganj). Unfortunately, he was declared brought dead by the medical professionals.
