Earlier, the police had arrested five people including Assistant Attorney General Qazi Bashir Ahmed. The court granted five-day remand to each of them. Others arrested are Usman Chaudhary, Hasanuzzaman, Torikul Islam and Enamul Haq.
Before being arrested, Kajal had sent a statement to the media on Saturday afternoon. He alleged that the clashes had taken place between supporters of Awami League-backed candidates Shah Manjurul Haq and Nahid Sultana, but three other leaders of the BNP-backed panel were also accused in the case.
Of these, Usman Chaudhary has already been arrested and the houses of others have been raided.
Clashes broke out during the counting of ballot papers on Friday morning, in which Assistant Attorney General SR Siddiqui Saif and other lawyers were injured, witnesses said.
