A large section of party leaders and workers are busy with cases, trials, court appearances and sentencing. The other part is behind bars. At present no important movement has been called.
Amidst this situation, BNP should adopt the strategy of involving the party leaders and workers in regular political activities at the grassroots level, and in that situation, Upazila Parishad elections can be a big field for regular political activities because of the medium of rally. Politics remains alive to some extent. And other programs.
Delwar Hussain, former chairman of Kendua upazila council of Netrokona and member of Kendua upazila unit of BNP, also talked about another political benefit. He told Prothom Alo that many people from the Awami League would contest the upazila elections, and that the division that had taken place between the party and independent candidates during the January 7 parliamentary election would soon be resolved, and from that point of view, the BNP would be expected to contest in the upcoming elections. There can be benefits from participating in elections.
