BNP’s strategy to unite opposition parties for 12th parliamentary elections in Bangladesh

0 minutes, 40 seconds Read

BNP sources said the party’s policy makers have reached a consensus to bring all political parties on one platform. However, no final decision has been taken in this regard. Moreover, formal discussions have not been held with the allies and alliances that launched the movement simultaneously. Will be discussed soon.

The main political parties leading the movement against the government are Jamaat-e-Islami and the Islamic Movement.

However, both these parties are not in a movement together led by BNP. Jamaat is following simultaneous programs of BNP with one point demand, resignation of the government. The party is taking to the streets announcing different programs of strike and blockade.

On the other hand, the Islamic movement is organizing independent events demanding parliamentary elections under a national government. They are boycotting the elections and organizing different programmes.
