He said, “I think Africans in general are starting to realize that ending colonialism is not only about giving people certain freedoms, but also about taking back what was taken away from us.”
He is not alone, said Vuyolwethu Zungula, head of the African Transformation Movement, a small opposition party that belongs to the people of South Africa.
“People had to die, blood had to be split for those diamonds to go to Britain,” he told AFP news agency on Thursday.
The South African government has taken no official position on the jewels, but the death of Queen Elizabeth II has sparked new talks on their return.
