Condemning the words of the two BFF high-ups, the BSPA said such attacks on journalists and their families are unacceptable and revoked Salahuddin’s honorary membership, which was conferred on him when he became the BFF president in 2012.

On December 30 last year, the BSPA honored the 10 best sportspersons in the history of Bangladesh and Salahuddin was selected second in the list behind cricketer Shakib Al Hasan. But the BFF returned the award saying it was an insult to its president.

On 14 April this year, FIFA banned BFF secretary Abu Naeem Shohag for his involvement in corruption and submitting false purchase documents. BFF and Salahuddin, who claimed there was no corruption in the organization, have yet to release their own investigation.
