Earlier on Tuesday, two buses were set on fire in the EPZ and Bayezid Bostami areas of the city, but there was no report of any casualty.
Meanwhile, no buses on long distance routes left Chattogram on Wednesday. However, train movement remained normal. There was less public transport and cars running, but more rickshaws and CNG-powered auto-rickshaws were seen plying on the city roads.
Police were on alert at strategic points in the port city.
