Explaining the process, Mahmudul Hussain said, “This power will be sent to Bangladesh through the Indian grid.”
He said BPDB has launched a five-year project costing Tk 6.5 billion to facilitate this power import.
Mahmudul Hossain said following the Agriculture Ministry's proposal, Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) will purchase 25,000 metric tons of TSP fertilizer from Tunisia under a state-level agreement at the price of US$395.25 per metric ton.
He said that as per another proposal, BADC would procure 40,000 metric tonnes of MOP fertilizer from Canadian Commercial Corporation under a state level agreement at the rate of US$ 275.50 per metric tonne.
According to another proposal, BADC will also purchase 40,000 metric tonnes of DAP fertilizer from OCP Morocco under a state-level agreement at the rate of US$ 478 per metric tonne.
