Complainant Shara Khatoon said, “I will not say that my husband has not committed any crime, but due to harassment by drug dealers, I have been forced to leave my house. I went to complain about it, but the OC did not accept the complaint, instead, he wants 700,000 taka in bribe.
In this regard, Rajshahi Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saifur Rahman told Prothom Alo on Saturday night that he has not received any such allegation yet, but he may get it on Sunday. After this, investigation will be conducted and if the allegations are found true, action will be taken against the OC as per rules.
Rajshahi Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) and media spokesperson Md Rafiqul Islam told Prothom Alo on Sunday morning that they had not yet received the woman’s written charge and it could be received today, Sunday. However, since the audio clip attached with the complaint has gone viral, the OC has been withdrawn from Charghat police station for investigation.
