They were seen throwing bricks, stones and glass bottles and were using the doors of Shahjalal and Shah Amanat hostels and toilets as shields to protect themselves.

Earlier on Thursday night at 8 pm, there was a clash between the two groups over the trivial matter of sitting at a tea stall. At least nine members of the CU Chhatra League suffered injuries in the clash.
