Cricket fan and police battle at Narayanganj

NarayanganjBangladesh cricket team has beaten visiting New Zealand team in the first two matches of three match one day series. Thess wins has fueled the demand of stadium ticket. Third and final match will be played at Osman Ali Cricket Stadium of Narayanganj on Sunday next. So cricket fans there are so excited to watch the final match from gallery.

United Commercial Bank Limited (UCBL) is selling ticket on behalf Bangladesh Cricket Board. The Bank authority has been insisting that they will start ticket sell from Friday. But this morning they hung a notice which reads they will sell ticket on Saturday. This notice infuriated the cricket fans, they alleged that tickets are already available in black market, and there is ill motive for the postponement of ticket selling.

They started vandalizing the bank branch and vehicles on the road. They also blocked the road. Police rushed to the spot and police versus cricket fan battle started. At least twenty five people were injured. No further explanation from the bank authority was found but police said the bank is yet to receive tickets from the cricket board.
