Forty-year-old Mariam Begum, a proprietor of Nonadanga encampment in Bagerhat Sadar Upazila, went to a pool to have a wash, locals said.
Mostafa Fakir, khadem (caretaker) of a mazar, pronounced Mariam stayed during a residence of Shahadat Fakir upon a bank of a pool Saturday night.
“When she went to a pool around 5:00am, dual crocodiles swooped upon her as well as dragged her in to a center of a waterbody,” he said.
Hearing her scream, locals rushed to a mark though unsuccessful to rescue her.
Around 9:00am, Mariam’s physique was seen floating nearby a mass of water-hyacinth in a pond, locals said, adding which she used to visit a shrine.
