The court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka announced the verdict.
With this, various courts in Dhaka sentenced at least 1,532 people in 97 cases in the last five months.
One of these cases was registered by the police in 2011 and the other case was registered by a driver in 2018 at Ramna police station. None of the accused were present in the court during the verdict.
Additionally, all 24 accused in a case registered at Sutrapur police station in 2013 on charges of obstructing police in carrying out official duties and vandalizing vehicles were acquitted.
Dhaka CMM Court Judge Saiful Islam delivered the verdict in the case.
