The projects include Sylhet Division Rural Access Road Development, Third Revised, with an additional cost of Tk 209.1 million; Rural infrastructure development of Nagaon district with Taka 11 billion; Rural infrastructural development of Magura district with Tk 4.9 billion; Rural infrastructure development of Joypurhat district with about Taka 5 billion; Establishment of multimedia classes in 653 madrassas of the country, third amendment, with an additional cost of Taka 13.7 million; Augmentation of capacity of Bangladesh Public Service Commission Secretariat including establishment of seven regional offices with an additional cost of Taka 110 million, second revised; National Academy for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NAAND), third revised, with an additional cost of Taka 3.08 billion; Learning Acceleration in Secondary Education (LAISE) with Tk 33.04 billion; Ensuring offsite water supply facilities at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant by approximately Taka 2.42 billion; Establishment of BSTI regional offices in 10 districts with Tk 4.33 billion; Installation of smart prepaid gas meter, SCADA and GIS in PGCL franchise area from Tk 6.81 billion; Gas Sector Efficiency Improvement and Carbon Abatement Project with Taka 35.43 billion (installation of smart prepaid gas meters for TGTDCL); Smart Metering Energy Efficiency Improvement Project with Taka 21.14 billion (installation of prepaid gas meters for TGTDCL).
The remaining projects approved at the meeting are: Establishment of Single Point Mooring (SPM) with Double Pipe Line, Fourth Revised, with an additional cost of Tk 11.74 billion; Bogura-Rangpur-Syedpur Gas Transmission Pipeline Construction Project, revised for the first time, with an additional cost of about Tk 1.12 billion; Construction of bridge over Meghna-Dhonagoda river on North Gozaria Road in Matlab at 41.75 billion taka; Construction of Mirganj bridge on Arial Kha river at 8th kilometer of Rahmatpur-Babuganj-Muladi-Hijla highway at Tk 14.43 billion; Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar Highway Improvement Project with Tk 85.56 billion; Upgrading Karnaphuli Tunnel to four lanes including Anwara Upazila link road with an additional cost of Taka 746.8 million, first amendment; Upgradation of Chaturi (Chaumuhuni)-CUFL-Karnphuli Drydock (Maritime Academy)-Fakirnirhat (N-121) National Highway to proper standard and width with Taka 5.84 billion; Jamuna River Sustainable Management Project-1 (Navigational Channel Development) with Taka 6.2 billion; Procurement of ships to enhance capacity of Bangladesh Coast Guard by Tk 23.15 billion; Expansion of operations of ambulance services of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense (Phase-2) with Taka 977.8 million; Construction of multipurpose building at Officers Club, Dhaka, first revised with additional cost of Taka 1.95 billion; Construction of rail line from Khulna to Mongla port at a low cost of Taka 351.8 million; Construction of dual gauge single line on Joydevpur-Ishwari section, technical assistance related engineering services worth about Taka 1.67 billion; Road development from Rayar Bazaar sluice gate to steel bridge worth Tk 9.75 billion; Amin Bazaar Landfill Expansion and Modernization, First Revision, with an additional cost of Taka 4.86 billion; Strengthening the regulatory system for vaccines, diagnostics and therapeutics with Taka 6.13 billion and setting up the Essential Biotech and Research Centre, Gopalganj with Taka 31.24 billion.
At the beginning of the ECNEC meeting, the Planning Minister handed over to the Prime Minister a 124-page publication of the Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) titled “15 Years of Success: 2009-2023”.
