England’s Stokes will donate match fee of Pakistan series to flood victims

England captain Ben Stokes will donate his match fees from his three-Test series against hosts Pakistan to help the victims of the devastating floods in the country, the 31-year-old said in a statement on Monday.

Millions of people in Pakistan have been affected by severe flooding in recent months, with officials in the Asian nation estimating damages from torrential monsoon rains, which have killed more than 1,000 people, to exceed $40 billion.

Stokes said, “It is very exciting to be back here after 17 years as a Test team. There is a sense of responsibility between the game and the support group and it is special to be here.”
