Fire breaks out again in Rohingya camp in Ukhiya

At least 200 houses were burnt to ashes in a fire that broke out at the Rohingya camp in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar today. The fire broke out at around 1:00 pm in Kathlatali Bazar of D-3 block of the Rohingya camp in Palangkhali Union.

Several units of the fire service, members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) and local volunteers extinguished the fire.

Captain Additional Deputy Inspector General Mohammad Aamir Jafar of Armed Police Battalion (APBn)-8 said the fire broke out at around 1 pm in Kathaltali market (Camp-13) and quickly spread to the houses around the camp.

Two fire service units arrived at the spot and brought the fire under control around 2:45 pm.

He said that it could not be immediately ascertained how the fire started.
