Firing in Sylhet during torchlight procession by BNP

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders and workers took out a torch procession in Sylhet city on Saturday evening in support of their nationwide strike.

However, the police dispersed them by firing blanks.

According to eyewitnesses, BNP men marched into the city from Rang Mahal Tower Point at around 7 pm. At one point, they dropped torches on the road in front of Karim Ullah Market and demonstrated there.

Later the police dispersed them by firing blank rounds. The protesting BNP workers left torches on the road and fled from the spot.
