Four people, including three from the same family, lost their lives due to electrocution during rain in Mirpur, Dhaka. The incident took place around 9:30 pm on Thursday night in the opposite direction of Jhilpar slum adjacent to Commerce College in Mirpur.
Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mirpur Model Police Station, informed Prothom Alo at 12:30 am that there was flooding in the area due to heavy rains.
Due to lightning the electric wire broke and fell into the water. Five people were seriously injured by electrocution.
