On purchasing aircraft from European aviation giant Airbus, the Foreign Minister said Bangladesh will buy when the country’s economy allows.
Asked whether the decision to purchase the aircraft was final, Hasan Mahmood said such ‘final decisions’ on purchases are not taken in the Ministry of External Affairs.
Both ambassadors also handed over congratulatory letters from their respective heads of government.
Hasan Mahmood said the two countries are key development and trade partners of Bangladesh and the ambassadors discussed broadening ties in the coming days.
Speaking to reporters, French Ambassador Marie Masdupuy said France wants to launch a new exchange program for young teachers and students with Bangladesh.
