Internet hotspot has been installed in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman hall of Jahangirnagar university where the students would be able to use free internet. State Minister for science and information-communication technology Yafes Osman inaugurated the spot as chief guest while JU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shariff Enamul Kabir was special guest at the function. Besides, they launched CISCO Local Networking Academy (LNA), an advanced technology for communication at the Institute of Information Technology (IIT). Addressing the function at IIT, Yafes Osman urged the students to follow the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for turning the country into a modern and digital one. Around 700 students would get 24 hours free wireless internet facilities in the Wireless Internet Hot Spot at the Bangabandhu Hall. Vice Chancellor of JU said the facilities will enhance the scope of research and academic activities. Later, they distributed Post Graduate Diploma certificate among the students of IIT. Among others Pro VC of JU Prof Dr Farhad Hossain, Proctor Prof Arzu Mia and acting teacher of JU internet service Prof Farid Ahmed attended the function while director of IIT Prof Hanif Ali presided. |
