Each person can buy a maximum of 2 kg pulses, 2 liters soybean oil, 2 kg potatoes and 2 kg onions. About 300 people can take such essential items from each truck. These items will be sold among those who do not have TCB Family Cards. As a result, approximately 9,000 new families will be connected to this facility.

Tapan said pulses would be sold at Tk 60 per kg, sugar at Tk 70 per kg, potatoes at Tk 30 per kg and onions at Tk 50 per kg while soybean oil would be sold at Tk 100 per liter through open trucks.

He said that currently sugar will not be sold for a few days. If this essential commodity is imported, sugar will also be included in this program.

The senior commerce secretary said that anyone outside the circle of one crore family card holders of TCB can buy these items. “If we can increase the collection of these items, the scope of sales will increase.”

Tapan said that for now, this sales operation will continue on all working days while operations will remain closed on Fridays and Saturdays. Later the program will continue throughout the week.
