High court rules: Why government’s inaction on 189 detainees in Andaman Island will not be illegal?

These Bangladeshis were caught by the Thai navy while they were trying to go Malaysia

illegally by boat. Thai navy released them with four boats which had no engine, and then

they were caught by the Indian navy in Andaman Island. 100 people were died in the sea due

to shortage of food.

Since then they are detained in Andaman Island. Months after months passed but noting was

done by the authority.

Now the high court has issued the rule. Court asked the officials responsible to reply

within six weeks why their inaction will not be declared illegal? Court also asked to submit

a repot within 30 days to inform what has done.
