Sri Lanka, which won the last edition of the Asia Cup played in the T20 format, came in as underdogs and reached the Super Four with a dramatic win over Afghanistan.
They soon found their rhythm on home soil and, despite losing to India, defeated Pakistan in the knockout match to reach their 11th Asia Cup final.
Captain Dasun Shanaka said, “We came without our key players, but we still managed to make it to the final.”
