Foreign Minister Hassan Mahmood has said that India is interested in financing the Teesta project.
Hasan Mahmood, while answering questions from journalists at the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday afternoon, said that Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra conveyed his country's message during his visit.
A big project on Teesta funded by China has been under discussion for the last few years.
However, New Delhi is not comfortable with the project being implemented with Chinese financial assistance as there are 52 common rivers between Bangladesh and India and Teesta is one of them.
