Another Jatiya Party MLA Shamim Haider Patwari said that if there is a one-sided election, the country’s economy may deteriorate further. He urged the government to immediately call for talks.

However, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ruled out the possibility of talks on the next elections at a press conference at Gana Bhavan moments before Shamim Haider Patwari called on Parliament.

Saying that a conspiracy is going on before the elections, Shamim Haider Patwari said that waves of agitation are being seen in the textile sector; BNP is also agitating, clashes are taking place. Eventually, he said, violence began to appear.

Urging talks with the Prime Minister, Shamim Haider Patwari said, “The state and the government are not just for one day or just for votes. They have been around for a long time. I think now is the time for the daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to call for dialogue, establish peace and lead the country towards a just solution.”
