The female student had become vocal about harassment following the suicide of JNU student Fairuz Sadaf Abantika, who died soon after accusing her classmate and an assistant proctor of mentally abusing her.
The student of Film and Television Department went to the Detective Branch (DB) of the police on Monday and pleaded for the safety of her life. They wrote a letter to President Mohammad Shahabuddin, who is also the chancellor of the university, demanding a special committee be formed to investigate the incident and hold the university accountable for it.
DB summoned both the teachers and the student to its headquarters on Mintu Road in Dhaka on Wednesday.
