Landslide kills four of a family in Cox’s Bazar

The four killed were identified as Azizur Rahman, 50, his wife Rahima Begum, 45, mother-in-law Dil Faraz Begum, 70 and daughter-in-law Naseema Begum, 20, Lot Ukhyar Ghona.

Shamsul Alam, president of the Kaurkup Union Council, said Azizur and his family members were having dinner at night when the landslide collapsed their house. “They all died instantly from the impact of the fall.”

Local people said that for some brick kilns in its vicinity soil is being excavated from the hill for a long time, which could lead to landslides.
