“The people who are responsible for repairing the embankments don't come on time. We, the daily wage labourers, are doing this job,” says Anwarul Islam, a resident of Matbaria.

Sources said that due to the rise in water level caused by cyclone Remal, water entered the area after the embankments of Water Development Board were breached at 17 points in North and South Bedkashi Union, Koyra Sadar, Amdi, Bagli, Maheshwaripur, Maharajpur of Koyra upazila on Monday morning.
