Many people have chosen Metrorail because it is a faster means of communication. Be it morning, afternoon or night, Metrorail runs at full capacity. Long queues are being seen in front of the ticket counters. Almost all the coaches can be seen filled with passengers. Some people think that the compartments reserved for women are relatively less crowded. But we have seen pictures of coaches full of women negating that view. Moreover, the city of Dhaka remains awake till midnight. Many people in the city commute even after 8.30 pm.
Although this is the real situation, it is not understandable why Metrorail officials think otherwise. Even though designated employees of Metrorail officials cannot count passengers at every station, they do have data on ticket sales. Had they assessed the situation, the authorities would have added more coaches and the number of trains would have been higher by this time.
