Mirza Fakhrul denied bail in 9 cases: Latest updates on BNP general secretary’s legal battle

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was denied bail in the case registered against him for vandalizing the residence of the Chief Justice. The High Court rejected the decision given on his bail in this case.

The High Court bench of Justice Mohammad Selim and Justice Shahid Nooruddin gave the verdict after hearing the rule on Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was shown arrested in 9 different cases registered in Paltan and Ramna police stations. The bail plea in these cases will be heard in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court of Dhaka on Wednesday.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate MD Sultan Sohag Uddin of the CMM court passed the order on Tuesday afternoon. Earlier, Mirza Fakhrul was taken from jail to court custody at around 12:00 noon and was presented in the court after 1:00 pm.
