Miss England, Bhasha Mukherjee joins fellow doctors to treat Coronavirus patients

24 years old India born English doctor Bhasha Mukherjee’s parents were migrated to England from India when she was only nine years old. Later Bhasha Mukherjee studied at University of Nottingham. She became a doctor. She took a break to join beauty pageant competition and became Miss England in 2019. She represented England in the Miss World pageant 2019.
Bhasha Mukherjee’s break from hospital became longer to join humanitarian works in Africa, India, Pakistan and Turkey. She was selected as an ambassador for various charity works. But she was getting messages from her colleagues at Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, eastern England, where doctors, nurses and other hospital stuffs are working hard to save lives from Covid-19.
So Bhasha Mukherjee decided to go back to her hospital. In her words, “it felt wrong to be wearing her Miss England crown, even for humanitarian work, while people around the world were dying from coronavirus and my colleagues were working so hard”. British High Commission in India helped her to reach London from Calcutta, where she was working as an ambassador for charity work. Currently she in is self-isolation and after the isolation period she hopes to join her colleagues at Pilgrim Hospital.
