Morocco and Spain remained goalless at half-time

Morocco and Spain were locked in a 0-0 deadlock at half-time in their World Cup last-16 clash on Tuesday as both sides struggled to create clear scoring chances.

Spain at a raucous Education City stadium enjoyed much of the possession with Morocco content and waiting for their chances to counter-attack, to absorb the pressure.

Halfway through, Marco Asensio had Spain’s best chance, running onto the ball on the left side of the area and firing into the side netting.

Morocco’s best chance came near the end of the half when Nayef Aguird headed over the bar from close range.

The winners will go through to the quarter-finals where they will face either Portugal or Switzerland with their play later on Tuesday.
