The press conference was organized in view of the attack on Zaida Khatoon’s election campaign in Gopalpur area under Tongi Purbo police station on Thursday evening. A vehicle used for campaigning was allegedly vandalized and four supporters were injured during the attack.
Zaida Khatoon, who is contesting under the symbol ‘Table Clock’, was also present at the press briefing.
“My son and I went door to door asking for votes but we were stopped and attacked. How do we get votes if we can’t campaign? Attempts are being made to kill me and my son because I am contesting elections.
Jahangir also alleged that some officials of the administration were threatening his workers.
