BRAC bank officials have informed that one crore taka have hijacked from a private car when they were taking that from South Surma branch and Bandarbazar branch to Bishawnath branch of Sylhet.
Nine hijackers came on three bikes and stopped the car when it was at Atirbari area of Dhaka Sylhet highway. It was about 2:45 PM. There were no security personnel in that car. The hijackers took the cash by showing sharp local weapon.
Police of south Surma Thana rushed there after getting information from Bishawnath branch but hijackers were gone by this time. Police said, they talked with locals and no one has confirmed this robbery. Moreover the driver of the car and the bank official who was on the car are not injured at all.
Police is terming this incident as a mysterious one and inspecting this matter, is unbelievable that such a robbery may take place in that crowded area.
