Nine leaders and workers of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islami were brutally attacked in four upazilas of Natore in the last one month. Some of them were beaten, some were cut and some were shot by unknown miscreants. Five of the injured persons are still hospitalized.
The BNP leader was hit by three bullets. The attackers broke the arms and legs of two people, while the masked miscreants broke the arms and legs of six others.
One of the victims is a BNP leader and two are Jubo Dal leaders. The other six are leaders, activists and supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami. Six of the nine incidents occurred in Naldanga upazila of the district, while three incidents occurred in Natore Sadar, Singra and Lalpur upazilas.
