Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard told reporters, “It appears the individual stopped the car, got out of the car, walked up to the splash pad, fired shots. Fired shots again, fired shots again. Fired shots again. Left. So it appears to be very random at this point.” He added that he believed the shooter “had no contact with the victims.”
He said that according to preliminary information, there were nine to 10 victims of different ages, including an eight-year-old child. He said that patients have been admitted to several hospitals.
A Glock handgun and empty magazines were recovered at the scene.
